Alina is a historian with a special background in media and migration history and museum studies. Her book “Fluchtpunkt Film” was shortlisted for the Opus Primum – prize by The Volkswagen Foundation 2017. She has worked for research institutes and museums alike, among them the German Historical Museum, Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans Bredow Institute (HBI), the Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt Foundation and the Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial. Since May 2019, Alina is postdoctoral researcher at HafenCity University Hamburg and coordinator of the Pleasurescapes-project. Her Pleasurescapes-case study investigates the social significance of public entertainment in the port city of Hamburg from the 1890s to the 1970s.
